Startende van het gelijknamige gedicht “Hollow Men” van T.S. Eliot gaan we onderzoeken wat de leegte in het alledaagse zoal kan zijn. Als individu kies je een levensstijl(is het nu zakenman, huisvrouw, sporter, acteur, danser.....). Deze bepaalt je gedrag en verdere keuzes in het leven. Elke keuze heeft zijn consequenties. Als je kiest voor één levensstijl komen daar automatisch een aantal regels en ‘codes off conduct’ bij. Wat we willen onderzoeken is wat in elk van deze keuzes, de potentiële ontsnapping is aan de leegte die ontstaat door deze te volgen regels, die vasthangen aan een welbepaald leven”. Bij elke levenskeuze opnieuw de potentiële overstijging zoeken. proberen jezelf te distantiëren van de gevangenis gecreëerd door de conventies van elk gekozen leven. We willen zoeken naar de potentiële mogelijkheden om de leegte overstijgen, door in deze leegte te duiken en ze te ontleden en alsdusdanig een imaginaire wereld te openen. Oefenen op het imaginaire, zonder het reeël te maken.
Starting from the world created by T.S.Eliot in "Hollow Men" we will examine what can be the meaning of emptiness en everyday life. As an individual you choose a lifestyle (if it is businessman, housewife, sports(wo)man, actor, dancer,...). This defines you behaviour en further choices in life, and every choice has it's consequences. Choosing one life style, automatically sets some rules and 'codes off conduct'. What we will try to examine is what, in every choice is the potential escape to the hollowness that sets in by following those rules attached to a chosen lifestyle. Trying to distance yourself from the prison created by the conventions of each chosen life. we will look for the potential possibilities to overcome the hollowness, by diving into this emptiness and to analyse it and in so opening an imaginary world. an exercise in the imaginary, without making it concrete.
